Divine Word

I created Divine word to allow me to archive the prayers, meditations and songs that I find most helpful and pertinent to me. I put them on the blog list to allow others to go in and glance through them as well.

What a beautiful concept…

.

“… Move beyond any attachment to names.” Every war

and every conflict between human beings has happened because
of some disagreement about

names. It’s such an unnecessary foolishness, because just
beyond the arguing there’s a long

table of companionship, set and waiting for us to sit down.

——————————————————————————–

What is praised is one, so the praise is one too,
many jugs being poured

into a huge basin. All religions, all this singing,
one song.

The differences are just illusion and vanity. Sunlight
looks slightly different

on this wall than it does on that wall and a lot different
on this other one, but

it is still one light. We have borrowed these clothes, these
time-and-space personalities,

from a light, and when we praise, we pour them back in.

Birthday Update

Yesterday I worked as usual for a Wednesday,
Half the day in the Church office and half the day with Adventure Club.

I hope that the appreciation and camaraderie never ceases to amaze and delight me. One of the ladies from church baked me a cake for my birthday and brought it to adventure club to share with the kids. It was a fantastic cake and the kids sang happy birthday to me. It was so nice of her!
I got a card from the Woman’s Circle i belong to, a Card from the office staff and Many Many Many Many personal Birthday wishes from friends and members of the Church. It was a very heart warming day.

Then My boys took me to dinner at a place called Smokey Bones. It is an AWESOME place to eat. Its set up more like a Sports Grill then a restaurant, but both the food and service are excellent!
After dinner we came home and all watched a movie. A zombie movie.. (Trying to remember the name) Zombieland? maybe.. I’ll have to look it up.

It was gross.. but good. It was entertaining, something I don’t normally say about Zombie movies.. lol

All in all it was an AWESOME day.

Well , Its my birthday

I’m 43 years old…
Kinda weird to think about it since when I was 17 years old, I decided that I wasn’t going to live past 40. It was pointless Doncha know.. Life was over after that… Why bother living? /shrug

Well, Im here to tell myself, “Chiudi la bocca!”
Life is good! I have a great family! I work at the church which is very rewarding! I have made friends in this beautiful place and I am happy. Which by the way is something I can not say about being 17.

although, there are a few things to be said about age…. Like having to roll over this morning and ask, “how Old am I really? 42? 43?”
I guess it boils down to .. gotta take the good with the bad.

8 more days til I leave

Thats it!
Just 8 more days!
Then I board the Airplane and fly to Phoenix Arizona!

What started out as a long trip via train got warped due to the $2400 or so dollar price tag.
Yes I wanted to spend the week travel time writing but trust me, for a quick flight and a $300 ticket, I can find the time during the trip itself to write. lol

Honestly it would have been nice to take the trip and see the countryside and do some writing in seclusion, but .. shrug, this will work out too.

In Arizona I spend time with each of my sisters, and with my Grandfather in law. I’ll get to see my nephew who graduates this year, my neices who are growing all too fast, and my younger nephews.
All whom I haven’t seen in a long time. It should be a good time. 🙂 🙂 🙂
Then I’ll move to my grandfather-in-law’s house and spend time with them before heading to California

In California I have friends, family, godparents, the works. I really can’t wait. BBQ’s, birthdays, Orange picking with my niece, all sorts of things are shaping up. 😀
I will just have to eek out time for writing!

I will be leaving behind my husband who plans to eat at subway the whole time.
and my two boys who … well, I’m truely not sure what they’ll do but since they are 19 and 23 I can, without guilt, leave them to it! 😀

8 More days til I leave!!!!

Lent

Ahhhh, the season of Lent….

As a Catholic I hated this season, Not for what it stood for religiously, but for the sacrifices all around me that I’d have to focus on. YUCK! Fish on Fridays… and giving up sweets… and excessive church functions…..

As a kid, those are the things that mattered.

Now I’m 42, and have joined the Presbyterian Faith and find that naturally, (even though my current church does not demand it) I arrange our meals for fish on fridays, and whether or not I declare it I cut back on sweets and cussing and all those things I despised at doing before.
This year I added something. Prayer

5am – Prayer and Take my Meds
8am – Prayer and Start my day –
12pm – Prayer for the Prayer lists
4pm – prayer and begin dinner prep
and bedtime, Gratitude prayer for the day and all it had to offer

Wednesday working may prove a challenge. Since I work in the Church, I think it can be worked out.
the Trip itself may also provide a challenge, but Im going to take it one day at a time.

One Day at a Time.
Thats my two cents
